Discovering Community Power through Assets

John McKnight and John Kretzmann are at again with a new publication called, "Discovering Community Power: A Guide to Mobilizing Local Assets and Your Organization's Capacity." (PDF, direct download)  This terrific workbook is available from the ABCD Institute and really adds some specificity to the asset-based community development approach. There are questionnaires, charts, and all kinds of helpful tools to assist you with your asset-based mapping. As some of you have heard me say, the asset-based approach pioneered by John and Jodie and their colleagues at Northwestern and around the country changed community development forever. This workbook is another step in helping us change how we view communities and their possibilities.
