Two articles this week debunk the myths floating around about the increased costs that the "green job revolution" might cause. In today, New York Times, Paul Krugman does a masterful job of saying what is true and what isn't. These facts being batted around can be verified and Krugman says the scare tactics in the media just don't hold water. The fact of the matter is that green jobs can grow the economy and thus the number of available jobs not cost the taxpayers the sums mentioned.
This was underscored by an article on Spain's efforts to revitalize their economy using "green." That country is staking its economic future on alternative fuels and the equipment needed to make them. Spain is already exporting windmills and solar panels faster than traditional exports like wine. Is this bold step a sure-fire bet? Absolutely not but it is the kind of thinking that we need in the world right now.
You go girl!

I'm curious. How many businesses have you or Mr. Krugman managed? Where is the data or facts to support these conclusions? How many businesses have you started?

Sorry to see that "Ben" needs additional proof. As a community development practitioner I see the desire, and need, for "green jobs" in our community.
I've noticed that the transition to this new economy is extremely slow -- perhaps because it requires an education component that other industries do not. In other words, convincing someone that energy efficiency or reduced dependency on foreign oil requires some thought and discussion that, for instance, building a car or working at a textile mill does not.

Tim, et al.: Still no proof. You've offered only conclusions and platitudes.

i like this part of the post:"The burning of the festival's giant wooden statue is clearly a moment of spiritual significance for the film's subjects, but when they rely on New
Age cliches about "energy," "intensity," and "vision" to describe their feelings, the words don't resonate.
" is very good

Exporting of windmills and solar panels is really brilliant idea. It will surely help the country in its economic future on alternative fuels. On the other side, What do you think about the Irrigation system. Don't you think, it is great idea of providing appropriate amount of water to the plant as well in the farm.

I think this is a great post. One thing that I find the most helpful is number five. Sometimes when I write, I just let the flow of the words and information come out so much that I loose the purpose. It’s only after editing when I realize what I’ve done.
