The National Human Services Assembly (NHSA) has devoted a section of their website to strengthening families. Included in the section are a series of informative policy briefs on the following topics:
• Introduction to Family Strengthening
• Connecting Families, Schools and Community Resources
• Parental Involvement in Education
• Mentoring as a Family Strengthening Strategy
• Community Violence Prevention (Coming soon)
• Family Strengthening in Youth Development (Calling for Practices)
Another resource of interest in this area is a website developed and maintained by the Pew Partnership called Solutions for America. 'Solutions' contains information on the best practices - what works and what doesn't. Of particular relevance here is the section dedicated to Healthy Families and Children. The subjects addressed are similar to those of NHSA but the information is complementary rather than exclusive. The Solutions issue areas include:
• Parenting Education and Support
• Teenage Pregnancy Prevention
• Youth Mentoring
